Meet With Them

Joshua Amewowor

Joshua Amewowor is the Vice President of the Ewe Association of Colorado (EAC) and a dedicated member of the community for over 18 years. As a pastor in the Denver metro area, he provides spiritual guidance and support. Hailing from Hohoe and Anfoega, Joshua is deeply connected to his cultural roots. With a passion for reading and research, he continually expands his knowledge and understanding. Joshua’s true joy comes from putting a smile on people’s faces, showcasing his innate ability to uplift and inspire. In his role as Vice President, Joshua brings his commitment to service, cultural preservation, and community engagement, making him an invaluable asset to the Ewe Association of Colorado.

Cornelius Ackumey

Cornelius Ackumey is a dedicated leader and community advocate, currently serving as the President of the Ewe Association of Colorado. With a rich history of involvement, he played a key role in the association’s establishment and growth.
As one of the founding members of the Ewe Association of Colorado, Cornelius has been actively engaged since its inception in 2002. The association’s first two meetings were held in his home, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to fostering a strong community.
Cornelius’s involvement extended beyond the local level, as he represented the association at the Council of Representatives (COR) of the Council of Ewe Associations of North America from 2005 to 2016. This experience provided him with valuable insights and connections within the wider Ewe community.
Currently, as the President, Cornelius serves as one of the Representatives of the association on the CEANA Council of Representatives (COR), in accordance with the association’s constitution. This position allows him to contribute to the larger Ewe community and advocate for the interests of the Ewe Association of Colorado.
Cornelius has been an active member of the Ghanaian community since 1997, when he relocated to the area. His dedication to community engagement is evident through his involvement in various roles within the Rocky Mountain Ghana Council (RMGC). Starting as the Financial Secretary, he later assumed the position of Secretary and continues to serve in this capacity.
Hailing from Adzato and Anyako in the Volta region of Ghana, Cornelius maintains a strong connection to his cultural roots. In his leisure time, he enjoys engaging with social media platforms and conducting research, further expanding his knowledge and understanding.
Through his leadership, commitment, and active involvement in both local and broader Ewe communities, Cornelius Ackumey exemplifies the values of service, community engagement, and cultural preservation. His contributions as President of the Ewe Association of Colorado and his dedicated involvement in the Ghanaian community have made a significant impact, fostering unity and empowering others.

Daniel K. Nkouka

Daniel K. Nkouka is a dedicated resident of the State of Colorado since 2007, actively involved in community leadership and service. He serves as the Secretary of the Ewe Association of Colorado, where he joined in 2021 and has contributed significantly to various committees, diligently fulfilling his responsibilities as outlined in the association’s constitution.

Beyond his involvement in the Ewe Association, Daniel extends his passion for making a difference in the community as the Founder and CEO of Health-Education To All, a 501C3 nonprofit organization based in Colorado. Through this organization, he demonstrates his commitment to promoting health and education, ensuring access to vital resources for underserved populations.

Daniel’s professional background as a Civil Engineer and Project Manager provides him with the skills and expertise to navigate complex challenges and drive impactful initiatives. However, he also finds joy in his personal life, cherishing quality time spent with his family. Additionally, Daniel possesses a musical talent and finds solace in playing the Trumpet, Piano, and Saxophone, allowing him to express his creativity and passion outside of his professional pursuits.
With his diverse range of experiences, strong community involvement, and commitment to improving lives through his nonprofit organization, Daniel K. Nkouka embodies a compassionate leader dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
